The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent

The museum displays a wonderful collection of earthenware, stoneware and porcelain covering the past 400 years and it is well worth a personal visit.

The web site explores a number of themes of which ceramics is a major one, detailing factories over the last 250 years and potters (mainly from the 20th century). A further collection is based largely on the photos and lantern slides by William Blake of pottery towns, factories, churches, transport and the workers inside factories making pots.
