Alcock Cup and Saucer (1840-1842)

An Alcock cup and saucer made in 1840-1842.

The decoration shows some similarities to Minton and Davenport cups and saucers of similar age. The blue is a dark cobalt blue and quite a lot of the surface is covered by pattern. The pattern number is 1/3997 and as far as I know Alcock was the only company to use “1/a number” as a pattern code. The diameter of the cup is 82 mm and the height is 68 mm.
