Coalport Plate (1835)
The Coalport plate was made about 1835 and its decoration is typical of the Rococo period.
It has a mid –blue border and a gilded, gadrooned rim separated by 5 lobed partitions. Scrolls and pairs of shell designs decorate the blue border and the centre of the plate is hand-painted with small sprays of different flowers. There is no mark or pattern number. The diameter is 252 mm and the depth is 29 mm.
